Who we are:
Bar L Equine Conditioning is the dream become reality of its owner/manager, Linda Tatum. Linda was raised on a family owned ranch near Guthrie, Texas and developed a love for horses and livestock as a youngster. She began competing in barrel racing and speed events as an early teen. After earning two college degrees in Agriculture and Nursing she embarked on a 30 year career as a registered nurse in adult life. Her work as a critical care nurse in the Emergency Department and later as a flight nurse on an EMS helicopter demanded long hours on the job. Although she continued to compete in barrel racing as often as possible, she regretted that her demanding work schedule prevented her from exercising her horses as often as she felt was necessary to keep them fit for competition.
In 2008 Linda “retired” from full time nursing to help her husband recover from a severe injury. She began to consider the feasibility of embarking in a new career direction that would help horses attain and maintain peak fitness without being ridden daily. After much study, planning, and patience to bring her idea to fruition, Bar L Equine Conditioning Center became a reality in the Fall of 2011.
